Ahead of LMAI conference, we got an opportunity to talk with Mr.Vivek Kapoor. He is well known in the printing fraternity with wisdom over a decade in manufacturing of world class pressure-sensitive self adhesive labels. The manufacturing unit of the company is spread over 8000 sq.ft and is based out of Navi Mumbai.
Tell me how did you ventured in Label business?
I am not from a printing back ground. I have done my bachelors in commerce. My family was into consultancy business (CA firm), specially my father being a Catered Accountant. I followed his way and started pursuing the professional qualification of CA. I ended up clearing first group of CA final, but always wanted to do something different. Hence I decided to kick started with textile manufacturing business and was later encouraged by Mr.Surender Kapoor of R.K. Papers to start with label business. Thinking over that, I decided to form a label manufacturing company by the name of ‘Icon Prince’ along with my cousin. Subsequently, in late 2008 I form my own company with the name of ‘Creative Labels’.
Tell us about the installations in your production unit?
The first machine we bought was a letter press from Iwasaki, Japan. Subsequently I added Gallus EM280 and also recently installed Gallus ECS340. We also have an inspection machine, hot foil stamping, rotary screen printing and quality control systems. This has helped us increased our production quantitative and qualitative scale significantly.
Which are the industries you cater to?
We normally cater to FMCG and Pharma, and with the addition of new Gallus ECS340 in our production line, we intend to diversify into liquor and other industry as well.
How will you characterize/describe Gallus ECS340?
We are happy to have Gallus ECS 340. It’s robustly engineered for flawless performance, ease of use and efficiency to help you produce top quality labels. The ECS 340 is a. It has short web path and a solid technical granite base to delivers high quality labels at low cost.
What are the hurdles you find in the domestic market?
Dearth of knowledge, skilled operators, and of course consistent increase in the price of raw material.
Tell us about your achievements?
(He smilingly said,) to start a business from scratch and develop it, is a huge task. Awards do matter, and we have had many of those, but it is the self-satisfaction which matters and makes us feel proud. Certainly, needless to add, client satisfaction is our prime and biggest achievement which prevails above all.
What is your USP?
We guide the customer in terms of getting the maximum added value to the product. We give solution based on the application. That should best define us in our USP and we firmly believe in this as our mission statement as well.
Tell us about the recent LMAI conference?
Over the years, the LMAI conference has become an important platform for addressing various industry issues. This year we have increased the duration from 2 to 3 days to ensure that the delegates, who travel from around the country and world to attend this event will get ample time to network and conduct B2B discussions. LMAI biennial conference, attended by over 400 industry representatives is the largest gathering of the printers, manufacturers and suppliers from the label printing industry. The 3 day conference will have presentation from the industry experts that would touch the topic related to latest innovation in packaging industry, packaging trends, impact of technology and consumer trends. An eminent guest speaker will also address the conference.
Your comments on the new government and its propaganda of “Acche Din” coming back?
Too early to comment since its only a year that has passed but would say that we have lots of hopes at industry level and expect huge business turnaround in near future.
